On
this date, December 23, 1953, the NKVD Chief, Lavrentiy Beria and six of
his henchmen: Vsevolod Merkulov, Bogdan Kobulov, Sergey Goglidze, Vladimir Dekanozov, Pavel Meshik, and Lev
Vlodzimirskiy were executed by firing squad in Moscow, Russia.
